Modeling and Performance Analysis of Energy Efficiency Binary Power Control in MIMO-OFDM Wireless Communication Systems

2011

Published version of an article in the journal:International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks. Also available from Hindawi Publishing: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2011/946258 The energy efficiency optimization of the binary power control scheme for MIMO-OFDM wireless communication systems is formulated, and then a global optimization solution of power allocation is derived. Furthermore, a new energy efficiency binary power control (EEBPC) algorithm is designed to improve the energy efficiency of MIMO-OFDM wireless communication systems. Simulation results show that the EEBPC algorithm has better energy efficiency and spectrum efficiency than the average power control algorithm in MIMO-O…

(Vapour + liquid) equilibria of (water + dimethylformamide): application of the headspace-gas chromatography for the determination of thermodynamic i…

1998

Abstract Isothermal measurements of the partial vapour pressures have been carried out on {water + dimethylformamide (DMF)} at temperatures betweenT=305.15 K andT=323.15 K using an apparatus composed of a headspace sampler and a normal gas chromatograph. These data were simultaneously evaluated in one step with respect to the (composition dependent, integral) Flory-Huggins interaction parametergby means of a new method which minimizes the Gibbs energy of mixing and does not require chemical potentials. The expression forggiven by Koningsveld and Kleintjens, originally designed for polymer solutions, describes the present results best.

Simultaneous radio and X-ray observations of the low-mass X-ray binary GX 13+1

2004

We present the results of two simultaneous X-ray/radio observations of the low-mass X-ray binary GX 13+1, performed in July/August 1999 with the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer and the Very Large Array. In X-rays the source was observed in two distinct spectral states; a soft state, which had a corresponding 6 cm flux density of ~0.25 mJy, and a hard state, which was much brighter at 1.3-7.2 mJy. For the radio bright observation we measured a delay between changes in the X-ray spectral hardness and the radio brightness of ~40 minutes, similar to what has been found in the micro-quasar GRS 1915+105. We compare our results with those of GRS 1915+105 and the atoll/Z-type neutron star X-ray binarie…

Viscosity of n-alcohol binary mixtures

1988

In this paper liquid mixture viscosities at 25 °C for 18 binary systems formed by primary n-alcohols have been measured. These values were fitted to Topological Treatment of Mixtures (T.T.M.) The pure compound topological description is obtained following the DARC system rules. A weighting function was introduced to obtain the topological description of a mixture. The results obtained with this model agree with experimental data (average deviation less than 2% in all cases). Dans cette etude, nous avons mesure des viscosites de melanges liquides a 25°C pour dix-huit systemes binaires formes par des n-alcools primaires. Ces valeurs ont ete calees par le traitement topologique des melanges (T…

Real-time acquisition of complex optical fields by binary amplitude modulation

2017

We describe, through simulations and experiments, a real-time wavefront acquisition technique using random binary amplitude masks and an iterative phase retrieval algorithm based on the Fresnel propagator. By using a digital micromirror device, it is possible to recover an unknown complex object by illuminating with this set of masks and simultaneously recording the resulting intensity patterns with a high-speed camera, making this technique suitable for dynamic applications.

Applications of mathematical modelling to the simulation of binary perfusion chromatography

1993

Abstract A mathematical model of binary (competitive adsorption involving two components) perfusion chromatography is used to simulate and study the behavior of a binary adsorption system. The dynamic behavior of column systems (frontal analysis) is examined for different particles sizes, column fluid superficial velocities, Vf, and intraparticle fluid velocities, νp. Column systems with perfusive (νp > 0) and purely diffusive (νp = 0) adsorbent particles are studied. The results obtained from the binary system studied in this work suggest that the times at which breakthrough begins for components 1 and 2, and the dynamic (unsteady state) relative separation between components 1 and 2 obtai…

Treatment of Herráez equation correlating viscosity in binary liquid mixtures exhibiting strictly monotonous distribution

2013

Recently, Herraez et al. proposed a new correlation equation, which introduces a correcting polynomial as an exponential-acting upon the molar fraction of one of mixture components. This equation is found to be widely applicable with more reasonable accuracy in systems exhibiting monotonous distribution than those presenting an extremum. In previous works, we have found that the first adjustable parameter of this equation is a universal exponent (0.5 or 1) for dioxane–water and isobutyric acid–water mixtures characterising the presence of solute–solute or solute–solvent interaction at very high dilution. In this work, we have tested this equation in 48 systems, and we have noted that severa…

On the bubbling dynamics of binary mixtures of powders in 2D gas-solid fluidized beds

2012

Abstract The bubbling behavior of fluidized beds has been thoroughly investigated in the last decades by means of several techniques (e.g. X-ray, Inductance, Resistance and Impedance based techniques). In recent years, Digital Image Analysis Techniques have shown their potential for accurate and cost effective measurements. Most of the works related to the experimental analysis of bubble behavior in the field of gas-solid fluidization actually deal with monodispersed particles although almost all industrial equipments operate with mixtures of particles. Among the works available in literature dealing with mixtures of particles having different diameters and/or densities, most of them aim at…

Liquid–liquid equlibria of the system dimethyl carbonate+methanol+water at different temperatures

2006

Abstract In this work, experimental liquid–liquid equilibria (LLE) data of the dimethyl carbonate + methanol + water system are presented. The LLE of this system has been measured from 283 to 333 K. On the other hand, LLE and LVE of the binary system dimethyl carbonate + water have been measured. The equilibrium data presented are correlated using NRTL and UNIQUAC equations. The reliability of these models is tested by comparison with experimental results. Finally, the VLE for the system DMC + water at 101.3 kPa was predicted using the UNIQUAC model, with the adjusted parameters obtained from the LLE data. This prediction was successful when is compared with the experimental VLE data.

B-MINE, the balloon-borne microcalorimeter nuclear line explorer

2001

B-MINE is a concept for a balloon mission designed to probe the deepest regions of a supernova explosion by detecting Ti-44 emission at 68 keV with spatial and spectral resolutions that are sufficient to determine the extent and velocity distribution of the Ti-44 emitting region. The payload introduces the concept of focusing optics and microcalorimeter spectroscopy to nuclear line emission astrophysics. B-MINE has a thin, plastic foil telescope multilayered to maximize the reflectivity in a 20 keV band centered at 68 keV and a microcalorimeter array optimized for the same energy band. This combination provides a reduced background, an energy resolution of 50 eV and a 3sigma sensitivity in …
